This was my last piece of serious automotive art while Tom was alive.
It was, ironically, entitled "Checking The Crops"
because it was painted during a time when Tom was going through a lot
of scary medical testing. Though he is barely visible, a small figure crouches alone
in the background field just above the center of the hood.

It was my policy never to paint any of Tom's cars and this one was no exception.
This E-Type is actually black, not dark blue.
But the overlay of early morning colors made it look dark blue to Tom.
So it became Tom's car and to this day it hangs in a garage bay facing his E-Type Jag.

It must be Tom's car... It has to be...
He said it was.
